After a wet and dissapointing crash that put me out of qualifying in Maribor I made my way to Winterberg, Germany for this year's Dirt Masters festival. It is a pretty big event with 4X, slopestyle and DH over the weekend. It had a lot of World Cup regulars and the crowds turned out for the sunny weekend, apparently around the 30,000 mark. 

There were beer tents everywhere, most spectators were wasted over the whole weekend which was cool and there was a massive buzz about the place. Half way down the DH track at the rock garden they even had a beer tent. This part of the track just erupted as the German crowd went wild watching the racers go by.

It was an awesome event and I will definately go back next year, even though it was a big race it was still chilled and I got to meet some cool new people.

Times were tight as in the finals, I was a bit dissapointed with 12th after making a couple of mistakes but I was still only 1second off a top 5 so I was happy to be on the pace, just got to hold it togther next time eh! Aaron Gwin took the win ahead of Vink and Polc.

A day in my life............

Jacob Gibbins has been up to stay with me for a few days filming for Dirt TV's "a day in the life of ...". Here's a few snaps he took in between filming.

Today I went for an awesome XC ride with Matt Simmonds and Joe Smith. We started at Llandegla but turned off to do our own loop up on some moorland on some natural trails before joining back on the marked trails again. There was still some snow on the ground and we were treated to some amazing views. Top day all round!!

 A couple of my new frames arrived yesterday so I got the Legend MKII built ASAP and took it out for a spin today. First impressions are amazing. Light fast and its sick in the turns. Ive got a bit of set up todo on my Canecreek Double Barrel just to fine tune it but i'm loving it already!!

This year I will be running on Raceface cranks. They look amazing and are mega light to go with it. Check the pic. Take a look at my bikes page for full spec. click

I have received a very nice package today. Big thanks to Cane Creek for hooking me up with the best shocks on the market. I'll also be using Cane Creek headsets on all my bikes. Zero stack for my DH bike to keep it low at the front!!

Matt Simmonds and me have been putting some work in at the trails. We decided to make everything bigger as well as build a new line. They are looking pretty sweet now, we are probably just over half way through now. We had a break over xmas but we will be starting again soon to get them prep'd for spring!!

The posty seems to be knocking on the door every few days now. Today he delivered some products from Adidas eyewear who will be keeping my vision clear for another season. Take a look at their site here
